What information is contained in Logilent LiveLab Lab Guides?
Logilent Lab Guides are very comprehensive with detailed overviews, descriptions, a step-by-step tutorial and more. The following sections are provided in most Logilent LiveLab Lab Guides:

  • Lab Description - Summarizes the main learning objectives in relation to overall networking technology curriculum.

The "Notes and Conditions" provides key data points and descriptions necessary to solve the scenario.
  • Command List - Outlines the basic Commands used within the lab, including variables or parameters, and a brief description of command functionality.
  • Recommended Approach - Sequentially documents the lab in a Step-by-step tutorial. Lab instructions are identified by a primary set of "Tasks" with detailed actions listed as "Steps" to help the user fully execute the lab exercise.

What are the features of the Logilent lab platform that delivers LiveLabs for Cisco Routing & Switching?
The Logilent lab platform for Cisco Routing & Switching is a hosted, patent-pending technology, which provides live access to networking devices. As a fully integrated engine custom developed by Logilent, the platform operates on industry-standard protocols to ensure a high level of client compatibility.

Logilent's latest lab platform features dynamic equipment allocation rather than industry-standard static allocation of pre-configured pods. Other features include a connection-oriented communications pipe, an intuitive Flash®-based user interface that delivers the topology, the lab guide and the console in one window, and dramatically better overall performance.

Yes! As an authorized Cisco Learning Solutions Partner, Logilent has access to core content that enable us to provide the best and most effective live, hands-on lab exercises for Cisco networking technologies on the market today.

The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking for small to medium organizations. The CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. Logilent LiveLabs prepare IT professionals for both certifications by focusing an individual's learning on the hands-on application and practice of the core knowledge. Current Logilent lab topics cover curriculum for the following Cisco courses:

  • ICND® - Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices
  • BSCI® - Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks
  • BCMSN® - Building Cisco Multi-layer Switched Networks

  • CIT® - Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting

What content is covered in Logilent LiveLabs for Microsoft® Windows® 2000?
The current Logilent Microsoft Windows 2000 Library includes 60 labs centered on the MCSA® (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) and MCSE® (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certifications. These labs enable users to completely control a real server, including the steps required to configure, modify, and manage server settings. Lab topics cover curriculum of the following Microsoft Core Courses:

  • 2151 - Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials
  • 2152 - Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server
  • 2153 - Implementing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure
  • 2154 - Implementing & Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services
  • 1561 - Designing a Secure Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure
  • 2150 - Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000-based Network
  • 2126 - Managing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Environment

The MCSA credential is for professionals who implement, manage, and troubleshoot existing network and system environments based on the Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows .NET® Server operating systems. These individuals typically do not deploy new networks and systems as part of their job function, as is expected of individuals holding the MCSE credential. In addition, unlike MCSEs, MCSAs are not expected to have design skills.

In general, earning a Microsoft certification acknowledges your expertise in working with Microsoft products and technologies. The IT industry, your employer, clients, and peers will recognize your Microsoft credential as a symbol of the skills and knowledge you've gained. Microsoft certification demonstrates that you have the ability to successfully implement Microsoft business solutions for your organization or client.
