Logilent Introduces Revolutionary Technology Advancement to the Company's LiveLabTM Service
Enhanced Technology Platform Significantly Improves Capacity for Enterprises to Access Live Equipment for Quick, Intuitive IT Training Exercises

LAFAYETTE, CA – June 24, 2002 – Logilent Learning Systems, Inc., an IT training provider specializing in live hands-on access to network devices via the Internet, today announced a revolutionary advancement to the company’s existing patent-pending LiveLab service. A first for the industry, Logilent’s technology advancement significantly increases system scalability that delivers dramatically higher lab capacity for its customers. Logilent’s achievement is a result of innovative technology that dynamically allocates the inventory of network equipment within Logilent’s data center for each user’s individual LiveLab exercise - allowing IT professionals to rapidly access live equipment to train and troubleshoot in a live network environment.

Dynamic equipment allocation, different from the pre-configured networks topologies traditionally used in the industry, will also support the rapid development and delivery of a wide array of new LiveLab product offerings for the IT industry, such as IP Telephony and Security. In addition, dynamic equipment allocation has practical and highly scalable applications beyond IT training.

“Logilent LiveLabs are the ultimate in hands-on anytime access for training on real network devices,” said Art Medici, president and chief executive officer, Logilent. “No other live lab technology available to IT professionals over the Internet today can rapidly allocate network topologies, configure devices, load telnet sessions, and make live network equipment available in a highly scalable manner.”

Additionally, Logilent has substantially improved the user experience providing multiple features that help save time while delivering anytime-anywhere hands-on training. Users now are able to execute a LiveLab exercise with topology, lab guide, and Telnet session, and manage multiple live network components all within a single user interface. New features offer save, load and reset options to save users time by retaining or resetting lab exercises for access at a later time. Additionally, the platform has been internationalized for localization or co-branding opportunities.

Logilent’s lab technology is a hosted system that functions as middleware between a user and a group of back-end services. Custom-developed by Logilent, the platform uses a connection-oriented communications pipe to support dynamic equipment allocation, and operates on industry-standard protocols to ensure a high level of client compatibility. No downloads are required, and lab access is fast and easy even in low bandwidth environments.

Logilent’s advancement in its live hands-on lab platform is based on technology from the company’s acquisition of DOLES Networks Corporation announced earlier this year.
